As a 3D character artist on Ultracore, your talent and vision will help bring life to the Characters and Creatures of Tormentosia. You will work closely with our concept and engineering team to create characters and creatures that are gameplay-oriented, beautiful, and consistent with the handcrafted art styles.

Your broader experience with game development and building well-designed characters will help you work collaboratively with engineers to ensure that you are always putting gameplay first when it comes to developing solid and fun characters to play.

You would be responsible for the design of the ingame characters. A certain level of detail in the models is preferred.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
▸Create stylized Characters and Creatures from concepts
▸Sculpt, model, UV, texture and create materials for characters and creatures
▸Assist with outsourcing character assets, both with feedback and intake/integration.
▸Strong technical ability to manage assets to fit poly counts, draw call limits, texture memory, gameplay space collisions.
▸Work with the team to conceive, visualize, and execute character art.
▸Build individual art assets, and help others to elevate their work.
▸Understand memory and budgets and work within those constraints.
▸Self-motivation, good communication skills, and a great team-player attitude

YOUR PROFILE:
▸3+ years of experience in the game or film industry as a Character Modeler

▸Expertise in stylized character creation from modeling, shading, texturing

▸Strong understanding of anatomy

▸Ability to execute all assets of character asset production low-res meshes, high-res meshes, textures, and materials

▸Eye for lighting, shading, color, and detail balance for stylized hand-painted textures

▸Ability and desire to combine PBR workflows with hand-painted textures

▸Familiarity with Maya/Blender, Photoshop. Zbrush and Substance Designer/Painter.

▸Ability and willingness to tackle technical problems and quickly learn new tools and workflows.

▸Strong understanding of color theory

▸Experience with rigging a strong plus

▸Background in AAA/AA production

▸Understanding the importance of creating documentation

▸Bonus: Unreal 5 and SideFx Houdini Experience
